Ascendancy in Path of Exile (PoE)
Ascendancy in Path of Exile refers to a system where players can choose a subclass for their character, known as an Ascendancy Class. This system allows for further specialization and customization of character builds by granting access to an additional passive skill tree specific to the chosen Ascendancy.
How to Unlock Ascendancy in PoE 2
In Path of Exile 2, players can unlock their Ascendancy Class by completing specific trials:
- Trial of the Sekhemas: Located in Act 2, this trial is unlocked through the quest item Balbala's Barya. Completing it rewards the player with their first Ascendancy Class and two Ascendancy passive points.
- Trial of Chaos: Found in Act 3, this trial requires the Chimeral Inscribed Ultimatum. It offers additional Ascendancy passive points upon completion.
Ascendancy Classes
Each character class in PoE 2 has access to three Ascendancy Classes, though only two are available during early access. These subclasses provide unique abilities and playstyles:
- Ranger Ascendancies: Deadeye and Pathfinder are examples, focusing on ranged damage and flask/poison mastery, respectively.
- Monk Ascendancies: Invoker and Acolyte of Chayula are options, emphasizing elemental magic and darkness manipulation.
Ascendancy Passive Points
Players can earn up to eight Ascendancy passive points by completing various trials at different levels of difficulty. These points are crucial for enhancing character builds by allocating them in the Ascendancy skill tree.
Ascendancy System Feedback
The Ascendancy system has received mixed feedback, with some players expressing frustration over the challenges and requirements to unlock passive points. However, it remains a core part of character development in Path of Exile.
